We First met at school of Nursing, University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan in the 1970s as school mates for our basic nursing education.
There, our friendship started. Little did we know that we will meet again in the 1980s at the University of Ibadan for our degree programme in Nursing Education.
By 1990s we met again , this time as colleague in the academic world at Department of Nursing Sciences, faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, our bond of friendship deepened and blossomed until your home call to Glory.
You were not married yet you counselled me on marital issues. You did not have your own biological children, yet you were my counsellor in matters pertaining to rearing of children.
All our children call you their second mother, because you cared for them.
I will forever miss you!
Prof. (Mrs) Ijeoma O. Ehiemere, FWACN.

In whatever angle in nursing, one viewed Pauline, she stood out as one called to care for people.
I first met Pauline in one of the numerous meetings of the fellows, West African College of Nursing, her humble and quiet personality were readily apparent.
It was clear that she was an outstanding career researcher ready to encourage and mentor the younger ones in the University.
Her area of research interest was Public Health Nursing that was in tandem with mine.
We published many research work together and attended many conferences organized by West African Health Examination Board, West African Post-graduate College of Nurses and Midwives and Nursing Council of Nigeria.
When Pauline started the Department of Nursing Science at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, she encouraged me to join her as an adjunct Lecturer.
She later joined me at Ebonyi State University as a Professor on Sabbatical leave.
As a builder , she served as the first Post-graduate Coordinator for the Department and worked hard to enable me as Head of Department, establish Post-graduate programme in the Department of Nursing Science of the University.
Pauline exhibited mutual respect for everyone she worked with. She had value for co-staff and students. She took everyone for whom they were.
Prof. Ezenduka was endowed with emotional intelligence. She was master of her-self. She understood, used, and managed her emotions in positive ways to relieve stress that is a common problem in University administration.
Her communication skills were very effective. She worked to avoid conflict in whichever areas she found herself.
It is a privilege for me to have been part of Pauline’s academic life.

Prof. Pauline Ezenduka was a gentle Nightingale representative. A community nurse to the core. She was a humble, quiet, peaceful and a God fearing woman.
A saint has gone!
Prof. Pauline Ezenduka was my project supervisor during my undergraduate programme at the Department of Nursing Sciences, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu Campus (UNEC).
She mentored me well. She was once the Head of Department of Nursing Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus for 4 years where I worked under her as my HOD.
She later became the Dean of my faculty (Faculty of Health Sciences & Technology, Unizik, Nnewi Campus). It was during her tenure as the Dean that our faculty moved into our current faculty building.
She was a prime mover, a goal getter, very hardworking and a calm woman. She achieved a lot during her tenure both as HOD and the Dean but in a quiet manner.
Rest in the bossom of the Lord, Amen.
Dr C. U. Nwankwo (Associate Professor), Dept. of Nursing Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Anambra State.
Equally, Professor Pauline Ezenduka of Achina, was an active member of the Prestigious: “League of Achina Women Professionals (LAW-P),” led by Barr. Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa-Mbah in her time.
Indeed Achina community in Aguata LGA, Anambra State, Nigeria has lost a rare gem.
