The Achina Citizens living in United States of America (USA), under the umbrella of :”Achina Development Association USA” on this day the 31st of December 2022, handed over a brand Medical life supporting Ambulance to the Amaiyi General Hospital in Achina.

ADA-USA has been loved by the Achina community in Aguata LGA, Anambra State, as Community development Non-profit organization.

No Wonder! On the 31st December 2022, dignitaries across board graced the Ambulance handover event at Amaiyi General Hospital, Achina.

Some Leaders of Achina Development Association USA, both past and present was at the handover ceremony at Amaiyi General Hospital, Achina.

His Majesty Eze Idegwu III, Igwe Godwin Nnaemeka Obiora (Ononenyi) was also present; with Nze Henry Ezeunara, as of the time of this post, the Achina Town Union (ATU) President General, was equally present.

The Rev. Father Walter Okafor, Principal in charge of St. Peter’s Secondary School Achina, blessed the Ambulance at the occasion of the Achina Development Association USA Ambulance Donation.

The Life saving Ambulance is equipped with facilities: Oxygen fitted, with patient portion and bed; including Nurse seat, Phone and numbers to call when a patient is unconscious and needs to reach the hospital quickly for treatment.

“PRESS RELEASE BY THE Achina Development Association/USA. ( ADA-USA) ON THE OCASSION OF THE HANDOVER OF AN AMBULANCE TO THE AMAIYI COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER, ACHINA ON DECEMBER 31, 2022.

Achina Development Association /USA (ADA-USA) ,is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to promote unity, cultural understanding and progress among its people and the community at large.

Membership is open to Achina indigenes by birth or marriage and resident in the United States of America.

The current executives are:
1. Engr.Cletus Ezenwa: President
2. Engr.Charles Onwumelu: Vice President
3. Hon.Francis Ezeuka: Secretary
4. Dr.Joe Onyilagha: Treasurer
5. Lolo Liz Osuala: Financial Treasurer
6. Franca Onwumelu( LMSW): Public Relations Officer
7. Hon.Jude Ndu: Provost.

In furtherance of its objectives, ADA-USA have rendered charitable assistance to individuals and groups over the years of its existence.
Beside activities in the USA, projects executed or assisted in Achina are:

i. Erosion mitigation at Ugwu Nganga;
ii. Environmental impact studies at different erosion sites;
iii. Road construction project in Ebele; and
iv. Schematic engineering design of flooding mitigation in Nkwere Mmiri.

In 2022, the need to provide timely medical intervention at the Amaiyi Comprehensive Health Center, Achina , Anambra State,was identified as an urgent need.

As a result, the membership resolved to provide a fully equipped ambulance to Amaiyi Hospital.

The ambulance was acquired in the United States and shipped to Nigeria.

On December 31, 2022, Franca Onwumelu, the Public Relations Officer of ADA-USA handed over the ambulance on behalf of the organization at Amaiyi in the presence of –

Igwe G.N Obiora; Eze Idegwu III, Nze Henry Ezeunara, President-General Achina Town Union (ATU); Dr. Ikenna Erondu, the Resident Doctor; Rev-Fr.Walter Okafor, Manager St Peter’s College, Achina; Barr.Chinwe Ezenwa-Mba, President League of Achina Women Professionals (LAW-P) –

Dr Adaku Aniebue, Immediate past President LAW-P; Lady Josephine Ezenachi, LAW-P; Dr.Beatrix Ezenwa, Financial Secretary, LAW-P; Barr. Ernest Ezenwa, who graciously assisted with
local logistics for the ambulance –

Dennis Ezenwaka former President ADA-USA, John Dike,President Otu Ndi Igbo Quebec, Canada and the local press were all in attendance.”

Dan Okpalauba, of Achina, is the head of Achina Development Association Houston Texas Chapter.

Achina Development Association USA has been playing important roles in both palliative road maintenance, construction of road drainages for motorable roads in Achina, etc.
