Amesi Women Empowerment Program of the AIU Port-Harcourt Branch

Amesi AIU Port-Harcourt Women Empowerment of 28th December 2024 was a great success

The empowerment project of the AIU Port-Harcourt Branch favoured Amesi women who were celebrating having skills that now put food on their table.

This women empowerment program was conceived according to Mrs Obiajulu Umechukwu, one of the founders:

“20 years back when we identified the critical needs to financially engaged, train and empower some selected ladies”

“They acquired skills such as Fashion Designing, Household items training and event planning (Catering Management)”

“On the 12th of January 2024, 2 out of 5 of the empowered women are already doing well in their specific endeavors, adding values to themselves, families and the people of Amesi in Aguata LGA in Anambra State.”

Also, another two trained women were empowered on the 28th of December 2024. While, one other beneficiary will be empowered very soon.

“However, it is our great pleasure to be here again in December 2024 to tell our success stories: Where we are now on women empowerment program & where we ought to be on this noble project.”

This empowerment Program took place at ASCON Hall Amesi, and was captured by BrainPower.

in a speech delivered by one of the founders, Mrs Obiajulu Umechukwu who presented that the foundation next step is the:

“Activation of another round of skills acquisition learning programs by 2025 to be empowered in December 2027. This is to be benefited by Port-Harcourt and Abuja AIU Women.”

According to the speaker: “we wish to remind the recipients that this is still work-in-progress, meaning that recipients are expected to render annual progress reports of achievement to the AIU Women wing Port-Harcourt and also to the follow-up team to always do the needful.”

In conclusion , the speaker appreciated the traditional ruler of Amesi for the opportunity to impact lives and equally thanked the President General Engr Oscar Ezechukwu for his peculiar role towards this achievement.

Others applauded were the Chairlady Ochiora Njide Umeoduagu for her efforts pushing forward the project, Major team player Matron Lolo Edith Ezenduka, the front runner of this project, the resource personnels Messrs Jane Obidiegwu and amiable Sandra Okezie.

Amesi AIU Port-Harcourt Women Empowerment closing prayers was said by the Patron Chuba Job Umechukwu.
